Who are they?

From their spiritual home in Bermondsey Hej Coffee brings the authentic neighbourhood coffee shop vibe to the workplace. Their happy customers feel connected to more; a true third wave coffee experience that’s a million miles away from the homogenised big corporate or stale vending office coffee company.

The Challenge

Hej Coffee tasked Feelingpeaky to craft their digital experience and expertise. To deliver a responsive website to reinforcing their brand image and overall customer experience. The vision was to deliver a website that was fully responsive and mobile ready; to create an online experience that evokes the Hej Café inherent mission and core values. One of the most prevalent challenges in building the Hej Café brand is maintaining a balance between protecting the brand values and growing as a company.

The Solution

The new Hej Café responsive website design focuses on the business of coffee. We brought the story to life across digital and physical touch-points. Feelingpeaky designed and created a digital environment that showcases the breadth of services that Hej Coffee delivers, sharing their passion for the bean.


With a rich blend of imagery and content the visual language displayed is engaging and immersive. The interface has a clean and simple aesthetic to help users navigate the site. The modular building components allows for an intuitive responsive website that can be easily managed.

Clean & classic


We wanted the design to mirror the quirky Scandinavian style that permeates through the original Hej Café in Bermondsey. The café regales its customers with a rustic Scandinavian charm. A moose head hangs on the wall, bespoke furniture made from recycled coffee beans create an atmosphere that is friendly and welcoming. The Hej Café maintains its Scandinavian influence but with a London twist. Keeping this in mind the design is clean, easy to navigate and all typographic treatments echo the identity delivering a clear simple understated design.



The aesthetic is simple and clean drawing on the Scandinavian origins of the café. The website channels the clean aesthetics of the café. It was important for us to communicate

this sense of unity via clear and highly consistent structures, backgrounds, colour palette, navigational tools and tone of voice.


Be different

Every brand is different, within a crowded marketplace a unique story combined with passion is essential for guiding the brand to success. The team behind Hej Coffee are a fun bunch of keen beans. A pair who had a love of the intricate process from harvesting

a bean to the final flourish of a Rosetta Tulip on your latte. Together they took their burning desire to bring some personality back to the coffee market and create products and experiences that people love.
