Signatur

A different world, through music

Signatur

Who are they?

The Signatur programme was set up in 2017 by Erland Karlsson and Rose Marie Játiva Karlsson, shortly after they founded The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation (KJCF). The Signatur Programme partners with charities and cultural organisations in the UK to expand access to music and the performing arts.

The Challenge

The design and development of a new website for the Signatur Programme was part of a wider, 3-site project for The Karlsson Játiva Charitable Foundation (KJCF). The Signatur Programme strives to create a different world through music by building partnerships to amplify the power of music and performing arts.

Our brief involved establishing a clear and purposeful user journey whilst maintaining the distinct brand identity of the programme. The solution needed to be scalable, secure and built on a future-proof platform. We were also tasked with improving content presentation and overall storytelling and the introduction of a shared component library for efficiency. All of which needed to be achieved whilst remaining aligned with the wider KJCF digital ecosystem.

The Solution

Our design approach centred on clarity, usability and confidence — for both the external audiences and the internal Signatur team.

Before any visual design began, we used the agreed project brief and content structure to understand what each page needed to communicate, who it was for, and how users should move through the site. This ensured the design supports Signatur UK’s objectives, rather than simply “looking good”.

We began by creating wireframes for the key page templates, such as the home page, core content pages and any specialist layouts required.

Wireframes were deliberately simple to act as a structural blueprint for the website, showing:
• Page hierarchy and layout
• Content groupings and emphasis
• Navigation and user journeys
• How pages adapt across desktop, tablet and mobile

The end result was an approved site design system for Signatur UK that:
• Clearly communicates the programme’s purpose and priorities
• Feels professional, modern and accessible
• Integrates smoothly with the wider KJCF web programme
• Supports straightforward content editing and long-term sustainability by the internal team
