DTSQUARED approached us as they felt their website was dated and didn’t accurately reflect their gravitas and position in the data consultancy market.

Firstly we examined the copy. Navigation keywords were put together to best explain each section of the website content. We wrote explanatory call-to-actions to engage the audience. This is a far more effective communication than standard ‘read more’ buttons. We used a couple of pixels rounded corners on the buttons to give a classy subtle feel.

Next up was looking into a colour palette. As we wanted to represent a strong trusted business whilst at the same time make it attractive, we opted for tones of blue to give a secure corporate feel. A lot of leading (line space) between the copy was used as this helps to make the copy look lighter, more elegant and a more attractive read.

There were a lot of factors to consider but one of the most important was how it would look and respond on mobile devices. More and more people are using their phones to view websites and it is a big factor whilst designing. With this in mind we used clean layouts and grids that would respond and clearly display on mobile.  As well as accent areas to break sections apart and large call-to-actions.
